NASCAR came to Canada in the summer and picked up two high profile drivers for the 2008 season - Jacques Villeneuve and Patrick Carpentier.

A few years ago when NASCAR was in the expansion phase, everyone and their brother was set to build a new race track. The purpose was to lure the auto racing sanctioning body into placing an event in this new facility and boost the local economy.
